Requirements:

• FrontPage 2000 / XP installed on your computer
• Gunston Web Server Account - Go to http://www.gmu.edu/mlnavbar/webdev/gunstonweb.html and request an account.
• Internet connection

Definitions:

The words Directory and Folder mean the same thing. It is a way of managing and storing files.

Steps:

1. Start FrontPage.

2. Click on "File" in the menu bar across the top of the software window.

3. Click on "Open Web" in the drop down menu.

4. An Open Web window will appear. At the bottom of the window, locate the "Folder Name" entry box. In this box type the following:

http://gunston.doit.gmu.edu/gunstondirectoryname

5. Press the enter key or the OK button.

6. The Name and Password window will now appear.

In the "Name" entry box type the following :

• For User ID - enter yourusername
  (replace "yourusername" with your actual GMU username provided above)
  
• In the "Password" entry box, type your Gunston password.

7. Press the enter key or the OK button.

8. Now you should be ready to create a FrontPage website.

9. To view your FrontPage website, start up your browser and enter the following URL:

http://gunston.doit.gmu.edu/gunstonfoldername
