Creating and Centering a Caption in Word

 

1.                  Insert and center an image. See instructions on how to insert an image…

2.                  Click on the image and then click on the “center” button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


NOTE: When you select the image, square-shaped handles appear at the corners and on each side.

 

  1. Click on Insert > Reference > Caption.

 


NOTE:    The caption box will appear.

 

 

 

  1. Click on the “New Label” button to manually enter a caption.

 

NOTE:    The label box will appear.

 

 

 

5.      Enter the label text and then click on the “OK” button.

 

            IMPORTANT NOTE:    You are limited to 40 characters.

 

 

  1. Highlight the label text and then click on the “Center” button.

 


 


NOTE:    The caption will be centered underneath the image.
