Requirements:

• FrontPage 2000 / XP installed on your computer
• Gunston Web Server Account - Go to http://www.gmu.edu/mlnavbar/webdev/gunston.html and request an account.
• Internet connection

Definitions:

The words Directory and Folder mean the same thing. It is a way of managing and storing files.

Steps:

1. Start FrontPage and open the FPWeb you want to publish to the Gunston Web Server.

2. Click on "File" in the menu bar across the top of the software window.

3. Click on "Publish Web ... " in the drop down menu.

4. The Publish Web window will appear. You are asked to specify the location to publish your web. Enter the following:

http://gunston.doit.gmu.edu/gunstonfoldername

5. Click on "Options" to view publishing options and make the appropriate decisions for your situation. Do not check the SSL option.

6. Press the enter key or the Publish button.

7. The Name and Password window will now appear.

• In the "Name" entry box type the following: yourusername
• In the "Password" entry box type your Gunston password

8. Press the enter key or the OK button.

9. Now you should see your site being published as the animated graphic shows pages leaping across the screen.

10. To view your FrontPage website, start up your browser and enter the following URL:

http://gunston.doit.gmu.edu/gunstonfoldername
